Bigeye Supply is committed to delivering premium seafood sourced exclusively from federally regulated, responsibly managed fisheries in the Hawaiian Islands.
We work with both independent Hawaiian fishermen and the Honolulu Fish Auction to ensure our products meet the highest standards of sustainability, traceability, and freshness.
Sourcing Model:
All fish supplied by Bigeye Supply are:
- Harvested from the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) surrounding the Hawaiian Islands (FAO 71)
- Landed by U.S.-flagged, NOAA-permitted vessels
- Handled according to strict cold chain protocols from catch to delivery
Whether sourced directly from vessels or via the Honolulu Fish Auction, our supply follows a consistent model backed by transparency and compliance.
Harvest Practices:
- All seafood is caught using low-impact, highly selective gear such as longline, handline, or pole-and-line methods
- No bottom trawling, gillnets, or destructive fishing methods are used
- Vessels operate under 100% compliance with NOAA regulations and are overseen by the Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council (WPRFMC)
Oversight & Affiliations:
- Our suppliers are active participants in the Hawaii Longline Association (HLA), which promotes sustainable harvest and ocean conservation
- The HLA is aligned with the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and works to maintain MSC-aligned practices across the fleet
- All seafood sold through the Honolulu Fish Auction is federally inspected and managed in cooperation with:
- NOAA Fisheries
- Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR)
- U.S. Coast Guard
Traceability & Integrity:
Every fish can be traced to the vessel, harvest date, and location using:
- NOAA species codes
- Catch documentation
- Fish tickets or landing records
- Internal lot tracking and cold chain logs
